International Friendship Day!
heyyy people! :) international friendship day [yes,] is around the corner! the student council are selling gifts like rose pens, gerbera daises and brown teddy bears. the prices as follow: rose pens: $1 gerbera daises [red, pink, yellow, orange]: $1.50 brown teddy bears: 10cm/$1.50, 15cm/$2.50 I think the 10cm/15cm thing refers to the height of the teddy bear, anyways, if you're interested, please place your order by wednesday, latest thursday morning [before flag raising]. Traditional Festivals For the members of the group, please prepare the details/facts/info about Deepavali and Hari Raya Puasa. You might want to consider using other methods to talk about the festivals such as show and tell or something, to make it fun and interesting! :) Sharing For the members of this group, please prepare one memorable event or something significant about your DHS life that you would like to share with our china friends. Singapore Languages For the members of this group, find one person who knows how to speak Bahasa Melayu (Frederick) and one person who knows how to speak tamil, hokkien and other dialects. i'm not sure if these are considered as Singapore Languages, but should be can ;) i don't think anyone knows how to speak tamil, so maybe your can find out how to speak "hello", "goodbye", "thank you", and "welcome to ___" in the tamil. and the same with the other dialects. Singapore Games The game that we will be conducting will be Bola Tin. If you don't know what it is, you can google/wiki it ;) haha, as for the materials, we will need empty tin cans, the kind that you get from soft drinks, ya know? yup, so those who can bring, please SMS/CALL Kimberly (me) or leave a tag on the class tagbox. And we'll need a ball, but i'm not sure what kind. ping pong? tennis ball? any suggestions? if you do, please leave a tag on the class blog tagbox :) thankyou. Please note that the above mentioned will be done in like stations manner, meaning that our china friends would move from station to station. As there is the time limit for the entire activity, which is an hour, please take note that they should spend around 10 mins per station. Hey Castro:D Hope you guys are enjoying 2010 so far. Okay so this is the new duty roster plan. Last year the duty roster was weekly and we had some difficulty what with some of you guys having CCA and third language. So this year, we are trying out a new daily roster plan instead. However, keep in mind that we still cant accomodate every single one of your plans. If you have any violent objections then you can tell the class comm and we'll try to switch days for you.
